Arua Hill Sports Club fell to a slender 1-0 defeat to table leaders Kampala City Council Authority Football Club in the Startimes Uganda Premier League matchday 7 at Barifa stadium on Friday afternoon.

The Leopards saw two changes from their previous game against Gaddafi FC with Gadafi Wahab and Rashid Kawawa “Olu” returning to starting XI.

The hosts stated their intentions from the onset as they aimed to bounce back from their previous game with Magandaazi heading over the cross bar after a delivery from Ssekamatte’s free kick just 8 minutes from kick-off.

Gadafi Wahab almost gave the Kongolo Boys the lead from a free-kick after a foul by Revita on Kwawa Rashid but his effort was well punched by KCCA FC custodian Derrick Ochan to deny the host in the 28 minutes.

Having not found the back of the net through their early chances, KCCA FC would go on to take the lead with their first on-target effort, finding the back of the net past Anyama Richard with a header from substitute Kasirye Davis after a cross from Mato Rogers in the 37 minutes for a 1-0 lead.

Allan Mugalu should have levelled matters for Arua Hill but his header went wide following a delivery from Robert Eseru as KCCA settled for a 1-0 lead in the first half.

The second half saw Arua Hill Sports Club start the better of the two teams as Atendele connected with Sekamatte through the right wing but Sekamatte’s short from distance was blocked by Revita.

Searching for the equaliser, the Leopards introduced Gadafi Gadinho, Sharif Ssaka and Innocent Media who tried to change the face of the game.

Allan Mugalu came close to drawing the Leopards level but his short was deflected wide just seven minutes to the stoppage time.

Moments later Toha Rashid failed to level matters for the hosts as his header went over the cross following a delivery from Gadafi Gadinho. Innocent Media also missed to find the equalizer after heading inches away.

In the end it was not to be as KCCA FC walked away with the slender 1-0 win.
