Our club thanks the player for his professionalism and exemplary conduct throughout his time with the club amidst the challenges.

Okello is a versatile defender, competent and aggressive tackler, gifted with good distribution, passing, and crossing ability. His tactical and technical prowess surely will take him to greater heights.

Agau completes transfer to Onduparaka FC

Arua Hill can confirm Rashid Agau has completed a move to Onduparaka FC. The forward joined the Leopards in October 2020 from Premier League club Maroons FC.

He made his debut for the club at home in a Big League match against Blacks Power FC in March 25, 2021 and scored his only goal in Arua Hill’s 2-0 win over Calvary FC at Green Light Stadium.

“First season is survival mode,” Chairman Eng. Joel A’ita Jaffer discloses season target.

Arua Hill SC Chairman Eng. Joel A’ita Jaffer has revealed club target for the season as the team prepares for the first top flight experience in the 2021/22 Uganda Premier League campaign.

He made the revelation on Wednesday afternoon during the Endiba Yaffe Extra, a sports program that airs in Sanyuka TV.

“The first year is survival mode. Most clubs promoted to the Uganda Premier League often get relegated after one season,” Chairman A’ita revealed.

“So in our first season, we plan to understand and learn the league then the following season or after that we should have the trophy,” he added.

The Leopards qualified to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League for the first time in six years after finishing the season unbeaten, topping the Elgon Group with 30 points and the crowning stroke came when they defeated Rwenzori Group winners Tooro United, 1-0 and emerge champions of the second tier in August.

Chairman A’ita also discussed football development and sustainability in Uganda during the shame show after the program host Martin Kaddu who also works as Uganda Premier League commentator tasked him to explain the plans available that will ensure Arua Hill SC defy the odds and successfully manage the common challenges Ugandan clubs face such as financial, infrastructural amongst others.

“Sports in Uganda is taken as leisure, for us it’s business, trophy is number two,” Chairman A’ita began responding to Kaddu’s query.

“Before acquiring the club, we started building a stadium which construction is now at 70% with 150 show rooms, 4-star hotel, 80 rooms, 30 apartments, doctors plaza,” he continued.

“We sold 60% of the business, we kept 40% for Development Infrastructure which we anticipate will make 5 to 6 billion Uganda Shillings per annum and some of the proceeds will go into funding Arua Hill SC,” A’ita explained further.

“We plan to have other disciplines of sports later after establishing and rooting the football club well. We chose building a football stadium first so as to have a strong football club and change the disastrous experience of West Nile clubs against central clubs,” he added.

“FUFA is supportive when we started the stadium project and the club. The FUFA President Moses Magogo invited me for a discussion and he is impressed because his target is to see infrastructural growth in Ugandan football.” A’ita concluded.

Arua Hill signs Robert Eseru from UPDF. The long-limbed forward has signed a two-year deal and will add attacking firepower to Livingstone C. Mbabazi squad of 2021/22 Uganda Premier League season.

Robert Eseru first played for Future Stars FC from 2013-2016 and Light SS FC from 2016-2017 before he crossed to Ndejje University (2017-2019) and later UPDF FC (2019-2021). He spent two seasons with the Army side after helping them back to the Uganda Premier League (UPL).

Prior to UPDF move, the forward played a part in promoting Ndejje University team to the UPL. His glittering spell with Ndejje University mirrors in his personal achievements after scoring nine goals and assisting seven times in 18 games.

The forward was a key player for UPDF FC in 2020/21 netting five goals in the league and bundling two man of the match awards against Premier League SC Villa and now relegated MYDA.

He left the army side with eight goals and 15 assists in 30 games attached to his name. He joined Arua Hill SC after signing two years contract in September 2021.

Robert Eseru pens two year-deal

Eseru is a versatile and well-rounded attacker, from a tactical standpoint, he is capable of playing anywhere along the front line, due to his ability to both create and score goals for his team, although he is most often deployed as a striker, due to his composure and eye for goal.

Eseru is good in the air, quick, tall standing 6ft 2in, strong and agile, he plays well with his back to goal and crows some of the best finishing, vision, passing and ball control around.

He has also functioned in a more creative playmaking role at times, as a supporting forward or even as a number 10, which allows him to drop into midfield to pick up the ball, where he can utilize his technical ability, vision, passing, and movement to create space and provide assists for teammates.
