THE ARUA HILL STADIUM

The Arua Hill Stadium also known as Arua Hill Stadium & Business Park is a football stadium under construction in Arua, Uganda, and the home of Arua Hill Sports Club. With a capacity of 20,000 it is going to be the fourth-largest football stadium in Uganda after 45,000 seater Mandela National Stadium-Namboole, 35,000 seater Nakivubo Stadium which is still under construction and 25,000 seater St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende.

The construction of the multi-purpose sports and business complex began once Arua City Council in 2019 under the Public Private Partnership cooperative arrangement  leased out the Arua Hill grounds to engineering company Development Infrastructure to build and manage for 49 years.

The construction company subcontracted its sister company Joadah Consultants to develop architectural plans for the stadium and construction works began in July 2019.

The stadium which is worth USD 8Million with capacity of 20,000 seater is expected to be built to FIFA and CAF standards and is earmarked to be completed by December 2021 and shall be open to host national team football games, basketball, netball and other sports discipline.

The Arua Hill Stadium which is being built next to the Arua City Monument at the roundabout on Pakwach Road in Arua shall besides the stadium have 60 bed four star hotel, banking halls, clinic & doctor’s plaza, retail shops & supermarkets and apartments.

According to DI properietor Mr. A’ita, the company is working on a deal with the French community in Uganda to organize an exhibition match that will feature retired French speaking footballers such as Didier Drogba, Sammuel Eto’  and others  during the grand opening of  the stadium.
