After a one sided action match, Arua Hill collect all three points from their first home game since the restart of the second round and have gathered 20 points in ten games as they maintain their lead position on the table.
Arua Hill had and utilized the best of their chances in the first half, with Allan Mugalu and Mike Kawooya each scoring a goal to enable the Leopards get back to winning ways following two consecutive draws.
Maroons came close to scoring when Abra Tuhubira powered a header which Richard Anyama palmed off for a corner.
Hussein Mbalangu copied and pasted his starting lineup from the previous fixture but had Atandu come to the bench as Emmanuel Mutebi stepped aside.
Our team started the game so well, collecting several chances that finally resulted into a goal in the 11th minute. But before, Arua Hill initiated an attack that resulted into corner just two minutes into the game through Rashid Yakin.
Immediately, Baden Mujahid made the first attempt on goal when he powered a shot into Eric Dharia’s gloves and by the 5th minute, the same player struck the side net in vigorous effort to get a goal.
A minute after, Gadafi Gadinho went for goal from freekick but his delivery was not powerful enough to go past the Maroons custodian.
Finally, our breakthrough came as intended through Mike Kawooya’s headed goal following a long Dan Birikwalira throw in that the opponent’s defense poorly dealt with.
Mbalangu’s men kept pushing for an advantage as the 13th minute saw Rashid Agau dribble past challenges before shooting wide. Maroons fullback Caeser Olega was booked for rough play in the 19th minute.
Baden Mujahid whipped a pinpoint cross in the 26th minute to Allan Mugalu who powered a header to an attentive opponent goalie.
Muhammad Ssenfuma’s side’s best chance presented itself to Abra Tuhubira in the 28th minute but his brilliant header was tipped off by Richard Anyama for a corner kick. Arua Hill finished the half time as commanders after Allan Mugalu headed home off Dan Birikwalira throw in to double their lead in the 31st minute.
Bronson Nsubuga was shown yellow card in the 34th minute as Arua Hill kept the pursuit to extend their advantage before the break and collecting chances. Baden and Leku connected so well with one creating the other chance to score but luck was on neither side as the score line remained the 2-0 at break.
Mbalangu brought Aggrey Kiirya for Rashid Yakin. Gadinho and Agau paved way for Rashid Kawawa and Rajab Kakooza meanwhile Baden left the pitch to create chance for Brian Ade and Arua Hill held on to the two goal lead to secure the much needed three points.
