Mike Kawooya: Calmness and one accord is vital for us to win

Defender Mike Kawooya has said Arua Hill SC needs to be calm and play in one accord against UPDF in the return leg so as to successful complete the cup double header today.

The Leopards play their reverse fixture of the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32 against Kefa Kisala’s side on Sunday 11/04/2021 at Bombo Military Ground.

Arua Hill go to the match with first leg victory after beating their opponents 3-2 in Arua at Barifa Play Ground, with Kawooya scoring the second goal.

The gigantic defender has come out to confidently declare winning away from home and especially at UPDF home is an achievable feat, but on condition calmness and togetherness is maintained.

“All the players are fine and what we need to do is play together as a unit, play in one accord,” he told club media.

“If we work together and in one accord, of which I am sure we shall do so, we shall achieve what we want at Bombo.” He added.

The 30-year-old was impressive in the previous fixture both going forward and also retreating to serve in his primary role. Besides the goal, he is easily remembered for contributing in goal attempts as several of his powers went off target.

Arua Hill almost gave away the game that initially looked theirs after squandering a comfortable two nil lead by the 58th minute. Kawooya while admitting it was a tough encounter however has a different perception of the up coming fixture, saying it will neither be difficult not easy.

“It will neither be difficult nor easily as they’ll come with pressure to win whereas our pressure is for different target,” he said while explaining the advantage Arua could capitalize on.

“Their pressure is to score many goals and win, fine we have the advantage we won at home but we’re going to their home and they will want to utilize that advantage,

“Whereas we’ll have free mind and that can work to our advantage too but we’ll equally need to work hard.” He continued.

Arua Hill last visit to Bombo Military Ground was in 2019 Big league game that ended 1-0 in favour of the Leopards,  the thought of playing against a team affiliated to national Army in a ground named military does not intimidate, according to Kawooya as history shows “we are a better side” Kawooya added.

Arua Hill’s best chance of progressing to the last 16 is through a goalless draw or any win.
